Golang Job: Head of Tech

What we are looking for

We are looking for an experienced leader with technical understanding to lead and manage growing team of remote and in-house Software Developers, Technical QA, and DevOps Engineers.

With a focus on automation, innovation and efficient programming, our technical team plays a pivotal role at Rootz. As a Head of Tech, the ideal candidate will be delving into the internal structure and heading the tech department’s ongoing development and leading projects together with the overall company strategy.

This role will be reporting to and working closely with the Chief Technical Officer and based in Malta.

What you will need to be successful in the role:

• Strong leadership and motivational skills to build a cohesive culture and teamwork mentality.
• Expertise on software architecture and cloud infrastructure
• Understanding the product roadmap and collaborating with the Product department.
• Collaborating with the CTO on the technology roadmap aligning to the company roadmap.
• A driven hands-on approach to testing, learn culture and getting things done.
• Clear and structured communication skills in English.
• Supporting the CTO to design principles and methodologies.
• Ability to articulate and optimise design, based on the value to the user and the business.
• A good understanding of how to scale and structure a team as we grow.
• Alignment with our cultural values and focused determination to our mission.

Experience beneficial to the role:

• Golang programming
  
• AWS environment
• Cloudflare
• Database (MySQL/MariaDB/Redis)
• ISO27001
• A minimum of 5 years leadership experience in a technical environment.
• Growing and building a team in high growth environment.
• Managing cross-cultural teams.
• Experience in iGaming is considered an asset.
